DYMO’s North America chart lists 4 × 6-inch Extra Large Shipping item 1744907 and Durable item 1933086 for the LabelWriter 5XL and 4XL. Those items are absent from the 550 and 550 Turbo lists.
Do not order a 4 × 6-inch roll for a 550 because another LabelWriter accepts it. Choose the machine and supported format before selecting a shipping-label template.
Large Shipping and Extra Large Shipping are different
In the chart, Large Shipping item 30256 is 2 5/16 × 4 inches. Extra Large Shipping 1744907 is 4 × 6 inches. The words “shipping label” alone do not identify a size.
Check the dimensions in the label format as well as the roll reference. Re-scaling a carrier document does not make an unsupported roll fit the printer.
| Item | Size | Model distinction |
|---|---|---|
| 30256 — Large Shipping | 2 5/16 × 4 inches | Listed for 550 and 5XL. |
| 1744907 — Extra Large Shipping | 4 × 6 inches | Listed for 5XL and 4XL; absent from 550. |
| 1933086 — Extra Large Shipping Durable | 4 × 6 inches | Different material; also absent from 550. |
Apply the 5XL supply restriction too
The 5XL needs DYMO Authentic labels manufactured after April 2020. A correct 4 × 6-inch item number on an old roll is not sufficient.
Before buying several boxes, keep the exact printer model, roll reference, dimensions and label material together. The chart also separates labels per roll and rolls per box, which affect pack comparisons.
