Read the model on the label maker’s housing, rear or underside before searching for tape. Keep words such as DUO, PLUS and BT: they can distinguish machines that use different widths or media mechanisms.
Copy the cassette or roll reference separately. A tape code helps reorder a known supply, but its colour and width do not identify every machine that accepts it.
Keep three details together
Record the full printer model, the supply system and the width. For a roll printer, add the roll’s core and outside diameter and whether the printer uses direct thermal or thermal transfer.
Use a close-up photograph to read small characters without opening the printer housing. If a code remains uncertain, compare the complete marking with the manufacturer’s model page.
| Machine | Supply system | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| Brother PT-D210 | TZe cassette | 3.5, 6, 9 or 12 mm; material and colour |
| DYMO LabelManager 280 | D1 cassette | 6, 9 or 12 mm; material and colour |
| Brady BMP21-PLUS | Listed continuous M21 cartridge | Exclude references restricted to M210/M211 |
| Zebra ZD421 | Roll media; ribbon depends on variant | Technology, media width, core and roll diameter |
If the printer has two media systems
The DYMO LabelWriter 450 DUO has a roll-label mechanism and a separate D1 tape mechanism. Select the mechanism for the job before choosing a supply. A recommendation for its address-label roll does not describe its tape cassette.
If the model is absent from this catalogue, use its official support page. A nearby model number is useful for browsing, but it does not establish a fit.
